If you used to be an athlete (or if you simply used to be in shape!) and you recently realized that you have drifted far away from that "in shape" body, you might be looking for the best way to get back into shape. And while "the best way" would, of course, be for you to simply quit your job and work out all the time, this is not a viable option for most, which means that you not only need to know the "best way" to get back into shape, but you also need to get back into shape without expending a lot of time.
The good news about trying to get back in shape in addition to working full-time is the fact that you do not need to work out for long stretches at a time in order to get back into shape; you do, however, need to be consistent with your workouts - which means working out every day (or as close to every day as you can!).
You might not be able to bring yourself to start going to the gym daily if you have been used to not going at all, but one idea is to get back in shape by not even going to the gym! When you begin to find other ways to work out, you can avoid the gym altogether if you want, and you can even have a lot more fun getting back in shape; simply find an activity you enjoy doing - such as kicking a soccer ball around, or jumping rope, or walking, or running - and keep up with it consistently.
When you "work out" by engaging in fun, productive activities such as these, you can start to vary what you do from day to day, which will continue to make your "workouts" easier. And over time, you will begin to see results from this simple practice of making sure you do a little bit of fun exercise every day - as your body will slowly return to the shape you were once used to being in!
